Making Time For Self-Reflection

Making Time For Self-Reflection

Self-reflection was the point, I realized, while walking a beautiful wildflower ringed labyrinth*. It was a welcomed time to give appreciation for the bounty of my life, for new ideas to float in and a time to recognize what needed to change. Most of all, I realized how important it is to make time for more self-reflection.

Here is your reminder to make self-reflection a part of your life. See if these thoughts help provide some structure for it.

RECOGNIZE THE BOUNTY OF YOUR LIFE

Recognizing the gifts of your life is as important as noticing what needs to change. The appreciation and gratitude you have toward your loved ones and for yourself, what you do and what you have accomplished, translates into personal satisfaction and confidence. It relaxes you, makes you more loving, and gives you generosity of spirit to spread outward. It is an essential starting point.

WHAT PART OF YOU WANTS GROWTH

Growing your mind, body or spirit takes awareness and clear intention. Ask yourself what part of you wants to grow and trust your intuitive first response. Do you want to learn something new, create something, improve your health, deepen your spirituality? My answer was a new class I’d like to develop and a garden for bees and birds. I focused on new growth, but it could also be about what is missing, a part of you that needs attention, that you have neglected.

WHAT IS HURT OR BLOCKING YOU

Many people have sorrow and trauma that block them from things they declare are wanted but are unable to manifest. Allow yourself to feel into the pain and give it recognition. Nothing will change until that blocked part of yourself is acknowledged and appreciated. Take the hurt and sorrow deep into your heart and give it respect, allow yourself to feel, understand and release it. Pain can be transformed by working through it with loving self-reflection. It will be the most important life altering work you’ll do.

Does this trigger some points of self-reflection that could be helpful? Reach out if you’d like support in the process.
