Making time to be creative
A throwback to being a student radio presenter, finding ways to be creative and definitely the start of my interest in storytelling and communication

Making time to be creative

It's been a little while since I wrote an edition of the newsletter, and that's for a couple of good reasons:

  • even though creativity is often present, time is often not! One of the podcasts mentioned in the media corner - keep reading to the end of this edition - is Creative Pep Talk, which I listened to a fun episode from recently about incorporating creativity into your routines.
  • I have been working on bringing to life a career coaching idea that I've had for a few years now, more on that coming in the next newsletter, helped along by doing a part-time foundations programme with Catalyst 14 Ltd . But a move to the Netherlands threw a little curveball in that plan along the way!

Since the last newsletter, I also passed my one year anniversary at Triodos Bank !

Some recent things I've been posting about include:

We're currently hiring for an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion intern. The role is still live, so there's still time to apply.

I went to Amsterdam to learn more about the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive at Impact Institute .

We opened up the B Lab Benelux inclusive practices toolkit to anyone involved in making workplaces more inclusive - check it out.

Ever thought about moving abroad, to study or to work?

As I approach another anniversary - my two year anniversary of living in the Netherlands - I also did a really fun interview with Leiden International Centre about my experiences.

Media corner

There have been several things I've enjoyed reading, listening, and watching in the past couple of months, including books and podcasts for the book and podcast clubs I co-organise for the Leiden, Netherlands Girl Gone International chapter. I thought it would be fun to share the podcasts we've listened to so far this year, because the concept is still quite new and our listens have been varied.

Check them out wherever you get your podcasts!

  • Big Ideas
  • Dish
  • Creative Pep Talk
  • Working Hard, Hardly Working
  • This American Life
  • The Happiness Lab

If you have any suggestions of great podcasts that you think also make great discussion starters, please let me know.

Thank you for reading to the end of this edition and see you again next month.

Subscribe to future editions (and please share with anyone who you think might like it too!)
