Making Theater Accessible to All: Why I’m Supporting Theater Alliance’s Radical Neighboring Initiative This #GivingTuesday

As we observe #GivingTuesday, it’s a perfect moment to reflect on the power of theater to provide entertainment, community, and reflection, but for many, the cost of tickets is a significant barrier to access.

That’s why I’m proud to support Theater Alliance’s Radical Neighboring Initiative, a stalwart program of the theater that for years has provided accessible tickets to patrons regardless of financial circumstance. Through this initiative, Theater Alliance sets aside free and reduced-price tickets for every performance, making it possible for people who may otherwise not be able to afford a full-priced ticket to engage with the theater’s socially conscious programming.

As a board member, I believe that the arts should be accessible to all. For years, Theater Alliance has brought communities together, sparked powerful conversations, and provided a space for diverse stories to be told, and it’s important to me that experiences are not reserved for those with the financial means to pay full price.?
