Making Sense Of Your Next Film Financing Meeting
Producers,
I am sure you have all been in multiple film financing meetings that went nowhere . You walked out of the meeting feeling like the participants were speaking different languages. Your feeling is essentially true. As a storyteller you are creative and passionate, you speak with conviction on projects you care about. A banker, whether representing Government, a private fund or the bank around the corner, work under very specific parameters in which they can fund your project. While your banker may share your passion for the project, a successful placement requires clear conscience and accurate information.
Before your next financing meeting, here are a few questions to consider:
- Is your budget reasonable for the genre and current market place for that genre?
- Do you have financial documents ready and available?
- Are your comparisons to completed films in that genre (and their sales numbers) incredibly hopeful or reasonable comparisons?
- Has your budget addressed COVID with a physical and financial plan?
- Does your financial plan rely on physical box office revenue?
- Do you have distribution? Or foreign sales estimates?
- Do you have commitments from name cast?
The End2End Media Group is fortunate to represent multiple lending organizations. Let's discuss your next project!
