MAKING SENSE OF EVERY LITTLE STEP.
Jonathan Okello
Quality Control Officer, Quality Chemicals Industries Limited (QCIL) Environmental sustainability and climate-smart practices advocate. Academic writer and science communicator. A reader and a writer.
Reflecting on this journey thus far, it has been nothing but a privilege, not just to work in the pharmaceutical industry but to contribute to the great efforts of numerous healthcare providers globally.
Being able to give hope to someone terminally ill, to live just one more day, by ensuring that the medicines used to treat them are safe, effective and of the right quality is such an enormous privilege.
Imagining helping a little kid by holding their hand in their battle with diseases like HIV/AIDS and malaria and be able to achieve their dreams; imagining helping a cancer patient brave through chemotherapy not just by feeling their pain, but by being part of their healing process and helping them get back to their feet to return to work, take care of their children and see them grow is gratifying enough.
Knowing that, through your humble effort, you are helping make a difference in the lives of others by being part of their healing process, is a feeling so humbling that it can not be likened to any other.
I am grateful to Quality Chemical Industries Limited for this great opportunity, and Joseph ASIKU and MERCY KITIMBO through whom it came; and to all those that have been and continue to be part of this great journey.
Above all, I thank God through and by whom all things happen and become.
