Making SALES – Top 10 Work from Home practices for Salespeople!

With this pandemic outbreak and government indefinite lockdown restriction has led many things to pause. And you may be spending most of the time staying and working from home. With the present outset, it is difficult to identify when we will be able to go outside or to work from office for the foreseeable future, but it does not mean you cannot get any work done.

For some, working from home can become a challenge but with the advent of the latest technology, things are easier than before, however, leveraging those technologies and become friends is dependent upon an individual. For some salespeople, transitioning from an office environment to a work-from-remote scenario is not a major task at all since it is normal to meet clients outside of the office or via virtual meetings. But it has not occurred on such a large scale before. That is why some people are taking some time to settle into the remote work culture.

Here are the 10-best work from home practices you can adapt to maximize your productivity.

1)     Dress neatly – Meeting or no meeting, it's important that you are well-groomed and be as ready as you are for the office.

2)     Keep your workstation clean – Keeping your workstation in order can help you manage tasks easily - it is become easy to locate pen and paper while you are on call or meeting.

3)     Keep your device charged and headset handy – Probably you do not want to hang at the final moment of sales deal or when sharing a vita pitch to prospects. As most of the work will be performed from mobile and laptop, turbo is always recommended.

4)     Take a regular break – Walk, get yourself tea or coffee but avoid sitting for long hours in front of the screen.

5)     Avoid alcohol and smoking in work hours – Absolutely No-No.

6)     Schedule your day – Work from home can have serious cons if you don’t plan or schedule your day, its important that you give time to your commitment, keep the schedule and align your task accordingly.

7)     Virtual fun – You can plan virtual lunches, breakfast, or coffee session with your teammates, do not just create sales, create memories too!

8)     Proactive communication – Work from home is not an easy task, meeting people face to face has its values, but with the present outset, virtual is better hence its highly critical that we communicate clearly to our stakeholders and ensure that our message is conveyed properly.

9)     Spent some time on news & reading – Yes, being a salesperson, you must be aware and updated with the latest trends of high changing ecosystems.

10)  Do what is right and make sense – Indeed, with the present outbreak, its difficult to anticipate neither any rule book so do what you feel is right and make sense to your ecosystem.

Now, as an effective SALESPERSON! We can do three things from here.

1)     Ignoring the opportunity and blaming the situation for revenue loss.

2)     Taking important notes and going back to revisit your sales strategy with the growth mindset.

3)     Reaching out to me if you need any specialized help for sales.

To conclude, what you choose to think also provides some idea of your development as a consultative salesperson. It is something like Matthew Pollard’s quote “Your business is always changing- your process needs to change too.”
