Hello ProAV & IT Professionals!
In this blog post, I wanted to review one of my favorite use cases for our new USB2AIR, the industries first wireless USB transceiver set built for 1080p video. In the video below, we show just how easy it is to wirelessly transmit HDMI and USB control for touch screens, Smart Boards and interactive projectors with the USB2AIR. The USB2AIR can be used with thousands of different USB devices, but this use case really hits home for the ProAV market.
The USB2Air is a wireless USB video transceiver set that allows computers to wirelessly transmit data over a USB link up to 30 Mbps. This easily allows us to send HD 1080p video along with touch screen control.
The above bandwidth chart reviews standard resolutions and the bandwidth required to transmit that information. With a 30 Mbps transfer link, you can see the bandwidth required for a wireless touch screen still leaves "headroom" for a reliable experience.
As you can see the USB2Air is plugged into a USB to HDMI adapter from Sabrent and the USB connection on the Sharp Touch Screen Monitor. This allows our Windows computer to wirelessly send video using the standard display link drivers along with control for touch screen interactivity.
Also, I wanted to not that a much better installation would be done for a permanent installation. This is just one use case for the USB2Air wireless USB extension system. Stay tuned for more interesting USB device use cases through March 2017.
