Making A Place for Memories
Sometimes what makes a place great isn’t so much about the physical space but what happens to the space in between the ears. The brain. When we designed the garden between the new Alpharetta City Hall and the new Fulton County Library, we listened to our Client. Mayor Belle Isle wanted a space that reminded him of the Founders Garden at the University of Georgia. It’s a small intimate space on campus where the Garden Club of Georgia is located and it is visually timeless. We wanted to capture that timeless appeal in this new Garden so we paid attention to every detail, all the way down to designing the custom ironwork for the railing. At the ribbon cutting for the new City Hall, The Mayor proclaimed the gardens as his new favorite spot so we knew we were successful in making that connection. As you can see in the photos, new memories are being made. Who knows, maybe someday, somebody will point to the gardens at Alpharetta City Hall and say “that’s what I want my garden space to be like!”.
