Making moves and reflecting on achievements this May
Changeworks
Scotland’s leading environmental charity delivering solutions for positive low carbon living.
Kicking off the month by sharing our work with SERS to deliver an external wall insulation project in Bonnyrigg, Penicuik and Cousland on behalf of Midlothian Council . As part of the community benefits from the project a donation was made to Brightsparks Play Groups to enable them to purchase much needed play equipment for their centre.
We enjoyed showing Carrie MacDonald and Len Preeper from Canadian company Thinkwell Shift our Edinburgh office. Our Development Director George Drennan-Lang caught up with them as it was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and lessons to continue driving decarbonisation.
We wanted also to showcased the work of our amazing Home Energy Scotland teams. This includes how many households they have supported over the past year to engaging with local communities and landlords. You can find out more in the posts below:

Towards the end of the month it was great to see our colleagues Iain Davies , Gwyn R and Ewan Fisher in Capital City Partnership ’s Think Retrofit campaign video. They are featured sharing their expertise alongside other sector experts. You can have a look at the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_fxgzRPHnk&t=2s
Finishing the month, it was great to share our work with CEMVO and British Gas Energy Trust to support Minoritised Ethnic Communities by providing a range of energy advice to help them stay warm in their homes, reduce their usage, and bring down their bills. Our colleagues attended over 20 events across Scotland to visit communities such as the Glasgow Chinese Women’s Association, Aberdonian Mums Group, Africa Future and more. This has been a great experience, and we look forward to continuing this and helping even more households in the future.
