Making the most of the colleagues around you....

Making the most of the colleagues around you....

....I received some sad news yesterday evening, but wanted to share some thoughts out of this experience that can hopefully inspire all of us.

An old manager of mine at British Gas - Mr Zubayr Natha, sadly passed away leaving behind a loving family. He was an individual full of energy, and always tried his very best for others in the workplace. Outside of work I happened to live in the same community as him, and he played a significant part in helping others and even traveled as far as India to carry out important work for communities there. He was generous with his words and time for others, and leaves behind an example for us all.

Whilst I am sad for my loss, and that of his families, friends and colleagues I contemplated over the fact that we often see and speak to our colleagues more than our own families due to the nature of work. If there is someone in your office that you care about or respect, tell them and exchange kind words. Equally forgive people for petty matters and make the most of everyone around you, because we should never take life for granted but seize the opportunity to better ourselves and humanity around us.

My prayers, thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mr Zubayr Natha, his family and all of my former colleagues at British Gas Business.

Zubz was a lovely guy, i worked alongside him at British Gas for 4 years and his energy and enthusiasm for both his team and his peers was quite humbling to be honest. I certainly found it difficult to keep up with him at times! I will never forget how he treated the tragic situation with his team member Pete Goodman, that really defined him as a caring manager of people. I am shocked and saddened that he is no longer with us, my thoughts are with his family and especially his wife and children.
