The project, 'Eat, Learn, Grow,' tackled something huge: food insecurity among vulnerable Australian families with young kids aged 6 months to 3 years. Through a design thinking-led initiative, this project uniquely targeted parents and caregivers, offering a responsive feeding intervention.
How?
By really listening to them through workshops, watching mealtimes, and surveys. The goal was clear: create a digital child-feeding guide that wasn't just another piece of advice but a lifeline for families struggling to make ends meet.
And guess what? It worked.
The secret sauce was microlearning – think bite-sized, engaging content that parents could access right from their phones.
This wasn't by accident.
The families said they wanted info that was visual, straight to the point, and simple to grasp.
And that's exactly what they got.
7taps Microlearning was the platform of choice because it nails the mobile-first design. It means that no matter where you are, you can tap into learning that's interactive and fits into the palm of your hand.
This approach wasn't just about making learning easy; it was about making it effective, tailored to the real-life needs and preferences of Australian families facing food insecurity.
So, why am I sharing this?
Because it's a prime example of how tech, when used thoughtfully, can make a real difference in people's lives. It's about more than just education; it's about empowerment. And that's something worth talking about.
