Making Life Your Best Friend

The simple act of deciding that life itself is your best friend is one of the most profoundly useful things you can do to live in a way that allows for more of your joy and unique light for more of the time.?

Life itself, a.k.a. the universe, the great mystery, Source, Creation, God, Jah, consciousness -? whatever you want to call IT - is very much alive.?


So it follows that life is going to feel about you the exact way you feel about IT. And?from that, your experiences are going to be influenced by the kind of relationship you carry with IT.


Have you ever woke up in the morning and said something like, "uggghhhhh?another day? I have to go do this again!?"

Alternatively, have you had days where you say something more like, "Good Day to You, Life! I am so grateful to wake up today, thank you, Creation, for having me. I am going to fill this day with joy, regardless of what events take place."

You get the picture. It isn't about the specific words so much as it is about the energy and intention you put into them.?


Importantly, these types of energies are more on autopilot than they are on "manual." How we approach the day, the situation, and life is so often a product of what we have accumulated through life. The unconscious and subconscious mind run about 95% of our life.?

95%!? Leaving 5% of our life experience up to our conscious minds.?


So would it be fair to say that what is contained within the 95% is somewhat relevant to our life experience? (Methinks.)


The process of working with this 95% is a profound process and calls for the guidance of experts. There is a lot we can do without being a credentialed expert, though, which helps immensely and allows us to find the right experts to bring into our team as we choose.?


Here’s a perspective you can try on for size - temporarily - and see if it resonates!


For example, we can just look at the example I gave - how we wake up in the morning.

What is the voice/thought in your head saying the first minute you wake up??What underlying narrative or story has been on repeat in your mind (perhaps without you noticing) that could be holding you back??

Do you have any narratives that feel like heavy baggage that run through your mind? That just get to exist in your mind, living "rent-free," as they say?

Start small and just identify one.? What is ONE thought pattern or inner narrative that you know runs on repeat in your head? How does your mind and body feel when that thought crops up??

Identify it and how you feel about it.

Then ask it to pay rent if it wants to hang out there or it is getting kicked out.

Why should some thought pattern be allowed to dictate how you experience life if you don't like that thought pattern? Do you allow people who you don't like and don't pay you rent to live in your house??

I doubt it.

Do you have space to evolve that narrative pattern into a narrative you prefer??

If so, what would that new narrative sound like instead??


You can become aware of this one thought pattern that you don't really enjoy, and notice throughout the day where and when it comes up.?

When you feel aligned and ready - go ahead and tell it - "HEY - YOU ARE EVICTED."


Our unconscious and subconscious minds are programmable. However it takes time and focus to program them exactly how you want. So please be patient with yourself above all else!?


Like evicting an actual human tenant who isn't allowed to live there anymore, give it a grace period - because again, noticing the pattern one time and separating yourself from it one time isn't the end of the dance.?

No - you want to replace that evicted tenant with a new, shiny, awesome tenant that flows perfectly for you and actually lifts you up and helps bring you joy.

So when you tell the old narrative that "you are evicted," replace it with a new narrative that you enjoy.?


When going through this exercise, remember it is very personal and very unique to everyone. We are all at a different stage and so how we balance ourselves varies. So be honest with yourself. Your inner narrative won't sound like mine, so use your own voice - it has nothing to do with my words specifically.

It has everything to do with forming your own relationship with your mind/body/spirt/Life itself.?


And by embracing this idea of "Life" being actually "alive," we get to choose our relationship with Life.?

Do you want life to be something you compete against, that is a burden and a thing to overcome??

Or...

Do you want a new additional best friend??
