ipse ipsa ipsum has recently teamed up with the National Library Board (NLB) for the Community TakeOver initiative to reimagine learning spaces that are not just functional, but also comfy and stylish.
We’ve decked out the Central Public Library with some of our best pieces. Think cozy sofas, chic AI modeled monobloc chairs, and coffee tables that make you want to sit and read for hours. Along with other homegrown furniture brands in Singapore, we’ve created spots where people can learn and connect with others through reading.
Why It Matters
Libraries are more than just places to borrow books. They're community hubs where people come together. By making these spaces more inviting, we're encouraging more folks to come in, relax, and maybe even pick up a book to foster a love for learning and #community.
The Community TakeOver initiative opens up library spaces for homegrown furniture brands in Singapore to showcase their products, services and share their brand stories. In the process, making these spaces more welcoming and inspiring. A comfy chair and a beautiful table can make all the difference, creating an environment that’s not just functional but even more conducive for learning.
Blending AI and Sustainability
ipse ipsa ipsum’s participation in this initiative highlights how sustainable design can enrich public spaces, making them functional and eco-friendly, supporting our broader goal of reducing environmental impact while providing high-quality, sustainable furniture.
In addition, our pieces highlights the intersection between AI technology with traditional artisanal skills from our rural community partners in creating innovative pieces. Specifically our 'Neural MONOBLOC Black' chair from CAADRIA 2024 where we showcased the use of AI models to push the boundaries of design is a bold statement resonating the 'Read for Books' campaign’s call to emphasize the power of knowledge and creativity.
This integration of technology not only enhances our design capabilities but also exemplifies the potential of innovative ideas to reimagine possibilities for the design and manufacturing industry.
Supporting the 'Read for Books' Campaign
At the heart of the Community TakeOver initiative is the 'Read for Books' campaign, which will run from July 1-31, 2024. A brilliant initiative that aligns with our commitment to community development and innovation. For every 10 participants who read for 15 minutes, a book is donated to underprivileged communities.
Overall, ipse ipsa ipsum’s participation is our contribution to a cause that emphasizes the transformative power of reading and education—an opportunity for us to support #literacy and community engagement, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.
