Making an Impact

New Home Consultant & REALTOR? with Lennar Homes - Helping others BUILD their dreams with the nation's top home builder.
Everyone has something to give. Whether that be your time, your grace, or maybe a few dollars. For me, it was to bring joy to others in my community and in my company through community involvement. We gave our time to those who needed it, to help fund childhood cancer research & support families battling this disease nation wide.
It is truly an honor to represent Northwestern Mutual and help Alex's Lemonade Foundation raise funds to fight childhood cancer. My first year leading my office to ALSF activities, we raised over $8,000. This year we raised over $4,000 in a matter of 3 months. We have done activities with Eastern Washington University, our local "Broiler Room" Restaurant, car washes, bake sales, Liberty Lake Yard Sales, and much more! I am so proud of my team for their willingness to support our community in a new light.
What is Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation?
Alex was a little girl who was passionate about helping others. Shortly after her 1st birthday, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. The doctors informed Alex's parents that if she beat her cancer, it was doubtful that she would ever walk again. 2 weeks after her operation, she was moving her legs.
By her 2nd birthday, Alex was crawling and able to stand with leg braces. She appeared to be beating the odds. Alex's parents were excited and happy for her growth! However, they soon found out that Alex's tumors had started growing again. Alex received a stem cell transplant after she turned 4 and told her mother she wanted to help all the other little kids with cancer too. She held her first lemonade stand when she was released from the hospital. True to her word, Alex raised $2,000 for other children.
Unfortunately, Alex passed. Her family continued to hold annual lemonade stands in her front yard in memory of Alex and her mission. Now, it has become a national organization.
