You've got 60 seconds to leave a lasting impression at a networking event, what are you going to say?

Most people talk about what their business does or who they'd like to speak to but who are the people you remember, the 60 seconds that stays with you? It's probably the person who does something a bit different, the person who shares a story that includes emotion and takes you on a journey but how can you do that in just 60 seconds?!

Let's talk about the magic of storytelling because guess what? Stories aren't just bedtime tales or Hollywood blockbusters – they're the secret to success in business too! ????

?? Ever realized how many stories you tell every day? From sharing your day's journey to weekend plans, storytelling is woven into our daily lives. But here's the kicker – how often do you intentionally craft a story that packs a punch? ????

??? As someone deeply entrenched in storytelling through my work at The Media Insiders and Radio Active Events , I've spent a lot of my time working on powerful storytelling, and I'm here to spill the beans! ????

So, let's dive into the 4 stages of storytelling:

1?? Define Your Subject: Whether it's a product, service, or idea, clarity on your subject sets the stage for a compelling narrative. ??

2?? Know Your Audience: There are no 'wrong' answers here, just laser-focused targeting. Who are you speaking to? ??

3?? Generate Ideas: It's brainstorming time! What key ideas or information must be woven into your story? Let those creative juices flow! ????

4?? Craft Your Delivery: Give your story a knockout punch with a captivating beginning, middle, and end. Hook 'em, keep 'em, and leave 'em wanting more! ????

?? Pro Tip: Treat your story like a radio advert – make every word count, every moment unforgettable!

  • Rehearsal

Once you've worked out what you are going to say and how you are going to say it, practice! If you've got 60 seconds then time yourself and make sure you can deliver your story without rushing. It might mean taking out a word here or there and refining your story but as long as the structure, main points and impact are still there, you are winning!
