Making an Impact

Making an Impact

I have been on the Board of Directors of BINA Farm Center (BINA) for the past four plus years. BINA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in the Boston area that provides a comprehensive therapeutic and recreational environment utilizing Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies, Vocational Training Programs and Creative and Complementary Therapies for children and adults with physical, developmental and emotional challenges. This organization that has been near and dear to me, particularly for those individuals who benefit from the mission. The various BINA programs provide opportunities for those with special needs to experience success, gain valuable skills, increase independence and self-esteem, and experience sheer joy.

The BINA Teen Ambassador Program (TAP) was established in 2015 to encourage and nurture future leaders to support nonprofit endeavors. The TAP program is comprised of teens with and without special needs, TAP instills it’s Ambassadors with lifelong leadership skills and understanding of service and philanthropy and at the same time, gives BINA a teen energy and perspective. “TAP really is the next generation of hands-on philanthropy; to teach through inclusivity, service, mentorship and community,” says Coryn Bina, BINA Co-Founder and CEO.”

These amazing young people are undertaking an incredible project, and need our help. One of the contributions this group is focused on is to raise money for a mounting lift for the differently-abled in order to assist BINA participants in wheelchairs to mount their horse for their therapeutic riding lessons. A mounting lift provides safe and easy transfers of riders, is more gentle for our horses and promotes a sense of independence and confidence in the rider. This effort is particularly meaningful and personal for us because one of their TAP members requires the assistance of a wheelchair.

In order to help our TAP participants as well as BINA participants, please join me in making a contribution of any amount TODAY! If some of you are willing to gives just $5, this lift will become a reality for Lillian, and other children and adults who use wheelchairs. Let’s help show these TAP teens the power of their philanthropic efforts!

I appreciate the consideration and hope some of you will join me in helping support this cause.
