Sure, a picture is worth a thousand words. But you have to find the right picture to make it worth it.
Drawing @amudart, that is my challenge. Can I make the art true to the Talmud text and in tandem make it engaging and relevant.
One term that I am dealing with is the idea of the word "forever". I immediately dismissed the idea of an eternity sign, that sidewise number eight . So then I drifted to the idea of a record player. But who can relate to a turntable, is vinyl still relevant? If yes, how about one of those old record players. the one with that huge funnel attached (RCA logo anyone?) Maybe not, maybe yes. How well versed is my audience or age bracket? Will they get it? Does it matter? Perhaps an old cassette tape player, rather a "boom box" to those still hip.
Choices, choices and more decisions. "I can't make up my mind?" These things take time and the choice sometimes misses the mark. So even if a picture does not tally to 1000 words, perhaps at times I am shooting for less...Na, never.
