Making good choices is about to get a whole lot easier…

For a long time now, Excel Vending has promoted healthy eating choices, but making these choices is about to get much simpler with the arrival of the new helloGoodChoices vending machine from PepsiCo.

PepsiCo is the company behind some of the World’s biggest food and beverage brands - Quaker, Tropicana, Nakéd, Copella, Sunbites and Walkers are all household names within their impressive portfolio. So, PepsiCo have now created a very special offering featuring the healthiest choices from their many brands housed in a dedicated state-of-the-art helloGoodChoices vending machine.

Why have they taken this encouraging step?

PepsiCo are responding to consumer trends where more and more snackers are looking for healthy options; in fact, the 2018 Mintel Consumer Snacking Report suggests that 2 in 5 consumers now look for a healthier snacking option. PepsiCo also appreciate that ‘Better For You’ is the fastest growing snack segment in ‘Away From Home’, currently growing +18% year on year.

In selecting the mix of products PepsiCo have addresses three key areas, low fat, low calorie and positive nutrition. Products such as Walkers Oven Bake are at least 30% less fat than the category average and Snack a Jacks are less than 120kcal per single service, whilst Sunbites with added nutrition have more than 3g of fibre per 100g.

On the juice front, Tropicana is already a popular choice, selling 2x faster than the nearest competitor and Capella is the No.1 ‘Not From Concentrate’ apple juice in the UK. So, the beverages offered in the helloGoodChoices range need little introduction because they are already the brands of choice for many consumers.

Finally, the grain options offer is equally appealing; Oat So Simple porridge sales are growing at 400% year-on-year and Quaker Pots sell 5x faster than the nearest branded competitor, so the popularity of these products is not in question.

On top of this real consideration has been applied to the vending machine that will offer all of these top quality brands; cashless and cash options are naturally available, whilst the digital screen will support adverts for customisable meal deals throughout the day. You can also get nutritional advice on your selection PRIOR to purchasing it.

All-in-all, the machine and the products have been selected to make it quick and easy for consumers to help make good choices.
