Making Friends with EX Trend #9: Well-being

There is no doubt that today’s EX trend has a direct effect on organisational health. The regulation of pressure and stress associated with all aspects of work/life balance can make or break the employee experience.?

Trend #9: Well-being

Well-being is well-placed as one of the top trends affecting the employee experience. The past few years have proven that well-being is holistic and that all aspects of well-being need to be in balance for employees to be able to show up fully and do their best work. Wellness incentives and programmes alone do not achieve organisational change – this requires a broader, more authentic approach.??

This starts with Leadership, living well-being values and modelling healthy practices. Deloitte's research highlights that micro- or under-management, lack of recognition, empathy, and psychological safety are the most detrimental leadership behaviours. Instead, we should be connecting people to purpose, offering meaningful work, and fostering growth opportunities to inspire optimum performance from our people. Read McKinsey’s collection of conversations about well-being in the workplace for further evidence and inspiration.?

Sally?

I totally Agree Sally and walking the talk is really important. A lot of companies are doing the easy sustainability ESG things first and postponing the difficult ones till later. I believe that getting staff involved with nature and other local based community projects can help communities, charities, volunteer groups as well as connect staff to the purpose & why we want to change the system. On Saturday I was fortunate to be part of a group that is helping companies by working with nature (in our organic vegetable greenhouse and harvest hundreds of kg of fresh veggies). we have over 40 urban green projects near Schiphol Airport -NL. Nature and people (communities, corporates) are the solution to some of the challenges and if we can roll up sleeves and work together any thing is possible. The rsocial cohesion, removing stress and wellbeing are great benefits when working in and with nature. two examples: my ecofitness box was also ticked by lifting more than 270 kg of pumpkins. https://www.instagram.com/p/CxVfmk6IOWr/?hl=en MoreTrresNow - visit to UK/Ireland - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MyQSW9di1M
