Making a difference to our communities!

Every year CCVS holds a photo competition so that our members can showcase their work. The theme for 2019 was The Difference you make.  Mark Freeman the CEO of CCVS said “While we write and talk about the fantastic work that is being done there is a real place for photographs that engage, inform and motivate people to find out more about what community group and charities do”.

Anyone who was involved with one of our member voluntary organisations as clients, volunteers, staff or trustees could take part and Doreen Wallace and Stewart Goodacre who work for Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, which has its HQ in Chatteris, entered four photographs highlighting the work and activities of the Friendship clubs across Cambridgeshire.

Two of their photographs were chosen as the winners one by a panel of judges, and one by a vote at the CCVS AGM. Today Doreen (who was unable attend and was represented by Hazel Williams, Chairperson of AGE UK) and Stewart were presented with their prizes. Each prize is £100 for the group shown in the picture and £50 for the photographer, and both Doreen and Stewart donated their prize to the groups. A cheque for £300 was presented by Elizabeth Forbes, a trustee of CCVS and one of the competition judges, to support the Age UK Friendship clubs continuing work,.
