Making a Difference
????????????As Christians, we universally glorify God, enjoy intimate fellowship with Him, and fundamentally lead people to faith in Christ: an essential task requiring keen focus with a great urgency in our culture. America is now filled with so much suffering and chaos: people in poverty, children in slavery, drug use like we have never seen, crime flourishing, sin increasing all around us, and it is accelerating.?Ephesians 4:19:?“They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.”?The lack of enthusiasm towards God with an increase in sinful living causes apathy and attention towards self and selfishness, as the concerns for others fade away. People are being lost to Satan’s deceptions, and their desire to know God dries up. Their souls are empty and dry, thirsting for something that will be truly fulfilling. Those without Christ are in a spiritual drought and we have the opportunity of?“watering them”?with God’s Word. Just as God sends the rains to refresh the earth, God uses us to revive and refresh a lost soul. Listen to Jesus words,?Matthew 5:13:?“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.”?and?Matthew 5:14:?“You are the light of the world.”??Salt is a preservative slowing decay in ancient times. Jesus uses this example to represent how sharing the Word of God can slow societal decay. As to being?“light of the world”,?we have the kingdom life {Jesus}within us and are a living testimony to those who do not yet have the light. The apostle Paul wrote,?Galatians 6:9-10:?“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”?Many of us avoid opportunities to share the Gospel with a non-believer, a family member or friend, in fear of being an irritation or rejected. But we need to remain courageous as the consequence of not sharing can be a lost soul.?1 Corinthians 15:58:?“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”?A Bible passage we can share with our non-believing friends is the promise from God,?Ephesians 2:8:?“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”?This is the greatest gift God could offer, but the unbeliever will have to accept it. Agree with Jesus that you are a sinner, acknowledge your sins have separated you from God, ask Jesus to forgive your sins, and believe that Jesus is Lord over everything and is the Son of God. You have been given a new life and new power for living.

1 年We have been given the gift of salvation by grace not for us to enjoy alone but to reach out to others so that we can enjoy together I was reading a book called Embracing revival by Moses Mukisa the lead pastor at worship harvest and he says "a revival can happen only if Christians choose to become Christians" in so doing by moving out on the streets to preach the gospel and among all planting churches.
