Making a Difference

Making a Difference

It wouldn't be a stretch to suggest that Bobby Hayes the founder of Joshua Group is one of the most trusted and dedicated people in Saint John if not New Brunswick, after all he won the CBC 2010 Champions of Change against over 2000 national competitors.

Awards don't feed hungry kids, so fourteen years later, two and three times a day, seven days a week, Bobby delivers food to several poor and at risk neighbourhoods. There are times when he doesn't finish until 11 and 12 at night and he's back at it the next day to repeat the process.

I know Bobby and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Bobby has little or no time for politicians, I've talked to him about "politicians", and he feels most politicians both local and provincial have failed in meeting the needs of "his kids", the kids in Saint John that he has dedicated his life to for the past 30 years..

Given his distain for politicians the simple fact that Bobby would take the time to meet and talk Paul Dempsey about the serious community issues and challenges speaks volumes. They have something in common, they both grew up in Saint John's south end.

I have known Bobby for close to 20 years. My belief that Bobby will always do what is best for the kids and his community is, unshakable. Paul Dempsey, at a different level, also has a desire to "give back to his community", to make Saint John and his community a healthier and safer place for families. For those reasons he, as well, has earned my trust and my vote. On Oct 21st please vote for Paul Dempsey.
