Making Conscience our Friend
Chander Shankar
Making a difference via coaching, mentoring and creating excellence.
Everyone has a small voice in the back of their head that keeps telling them what's right and wrong.
Some call it the inner voice, self-talk or the wisdom of ages.
Whatever we do, this voice is always with us and acting true to our personal values.
Our conscience (aka gut feeling) is our guide when we are confused or in doubt.
Have you ever done something contrary to your beliefs and regretted it later? Do you still carry some guilt about that?
The constant pressure in our heads because of doing something perceivably wrong can stop us from giving our best efforts.
Doubt, regret and guilt are the results of not following our conscience.
Our emotions have a direct connection with our conscience, and if we have negative feelings, then we should listen to the little voice in our head to do the right thing.
It could be speaking up, having the courage to show up or just telling the truth.
When we are aligned with our true selves and values, life becomes easy, and we are happy and contented.
At work, we must follow our gut feelings, be honest with our values and beliefs, and work for a win-win for everyone.
Making conscience a friend is our best option because it gives us motivation and energy to get the job done.
How are you using your conscience today?
