Making Change

Making Change

Nothing changes on New Years Day, nothing changes on International Women's Day. Unfortunately, this is most true for those still held captive, for 154 days now.

And counting.

We have to keep them at the forefront of our mind. At the same time we have to assess where we are, appreciate what we have, know where we are trying to go, and make a plan to get there. There is plenty to celebrate, and many incredible women doing tremendous work to bring equity, education, access and opportunities across the board.

So where are we now? Well, the lack of financial literacy is a costly drag - hopefully that's changing.

That's just one part of a system built for a different time, a different world, a different reality, a fully different structure (for some idea read The House of Morgan which I'm doing now). We have clearly come a long way, but there's a lot that needs to be done. The way we still have the working world set up leaves too many women behind.

It's bleak but not over. An emphasis needs to be placed on what the reality is - the only way to overcome is to understand the picture - via Eynat Guez

Adding this report via Alix Lebec as well:

There's so much energy, so much ambition - and ambition and voices and people of all backgrounds leveraging their platforms for good creates its own mass, its own gravity, its own curated serendipity.

We all need to be creative and get out of our bubbles, our comfort zone.

Erika Kullberg always has so much value to add:

The only way things will change is with action. One simple, only upside action is to go and engage with all these posts and the women behind them - if we care about everyone succeeding, we have to take part in making that happen. Not just one day out of the year (that's fine for left-handers day, I know who you all are). Do it consistently so there soon won't be a need for change. As long as it takes.

There's just so much talent, ability, ambition, creativity, drive out there. And it's being expressed and channeled into life and word changing businesses, ideas, content. And it's about not pulling up the ladder behind, not leaving anyone behind.

So I'll leave it with this from Danielle Abraham ???

and Wendy Margolin

If we want the world to be a better place, we need actions, we need results. We need everyone to come home.
