Making Bacon!

Staley Consulting has been in Salt Lake City, UT for 4-weeks working with Mr. Michael Pierce and his team at Daily's Premium Meats. Mike who is also a West Liberty Alum, has brought about a passion for Process Improvement and making Quality Products.

I am working with Mike on team building and development. We are creating and implementing process controls for repeatability and rolling out a complete TPM system that will and has created reliability in the facility.

The team here is open for change, and has stepped-up and helped to create these programs. We are taking tribal knowledge and creating systematic programs that can be repeated by anyone. One of my goals in consulting, is to ensure that whatever is created and implemented, lives on long after I have left. The only way for this to work is for whole team to be involved and have ownership and believe in what they have created.

I do not know if one can say there is a right way or a wrong way when managing in these times of Corona Virus, but as-long-as some type of protection for the team is being put in place for their protection it can not be wrong. I will say, Daily's has gone the extra mile by creating separation on the lines and break rooms - implementing a face mask program - and installing this thermal imaging system in all of their facilities. Each associate must walk through these scanners (Raw, RTE, Office) and have their temperature taken before entering into work on a daily basis.

This speaks volumes as to the quality company they are and the efforts to protect the team and I am glad to be working with them and know they are also looking out for my well-being.
