Making 2023 Your Best Year Ever - It's Not Too Late...

Below are three strategies I personally work hard to implement daily that have meant consistent and meaningful growth for my consulting practice over the last three years (including throughout the entire pandemic), and they continue to serve me VERY well.

These were methods I knew but I only started to implement them consistently from the guidance, urging, and accountability of my business coach,?Mark LeBlanc .?

They are easy and simple to understand and appreciate. AND they are almost equally easy to implement once you make them a habit.

"Best Year Ever" Strategy?#1?-?Make New Contacts Per Day?

Every day, I commit to reaching out to 3 people via email, phone, or text. Often, these are new contacts I don't know who could become clients some day.?

However, some days, I reach out to past or existing clients to check-in on a specific project. Still other times, I contact current or potential strategic partners that I have (or might create) a mutually beneficial relationship with.?

The point is, I find three actual specific individuals and plant new seeds with them or cultivate those relationships. In one month, that's 60 people (20 days x 3 people), and in a year, that's 720 people. This will bring new opportunities and business. If you can't do three, start with one. If you want to be an overachiever, make it five.

"Best Year Ever" Strategy #2 - Protect Your Calendar

Time is the most valuable asset any of us have and it is fleeting. So, protect your calendar. For me, I have relatively strict rules around my calendar - here are a few of them:

  • No calls scheduled without special permission for Mondays.
  • Wednesdays I usually block out specific time for project work.
  • I don't take calls before 9am and usually no more than 5 calls per day.
  • Friday mornings is for my weekly review and planning with Friday afternoon blocked for personal time I can use however I wish.

The bottom line is, you need to be serious and intentional when it comes to your time. If you don't have your own plan, then everyone else's plan becomes yours.?

Stuff still comes up and "life happens" that takes me off track, but at least when it's business as usual, I know where my focus needs to be and that my time will be insulated.?

"Best Year Ever" Strategy #3 - Track Your Numbers

I'm constantly surprised and amazed at how many business leaders and specifically, consultants and advisors, don't have a clear, consistent method for knowing and tracking their numbers on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.?

Only by know your numbers (production, profitability, growth activity, etc.) will you be able to understand what's objectively working within your business and what's not.?

By no means am I and my team perfect at this, but we are consistently working to improve and outperform ourselves which leads to inevitable growth.

Find a method and system that works for you, and then make a point to review your numbers if not daily, then at least weekly.?

I hope this gives you some insight or at least a worthwhile reminder to not overly complicate your work. If you have questions, I'd love to hear from you.

Keep it simple. Stay consistent. And you'll we on your way to a phenomenal 2023!??
