Today is the second day of Women's History Month. The MAKERS @ AOL group here in Baltimore is celebrating all month by sharing the story of a female trailblazer in history who persisted against all odds and stood up for what they believed in, making their mark on history.
Today we are highlighting Academy Award Winning Actress Jennifer Lawrence. After a recent Sony hacking scandal, it was revealed that Jennifer Lawrence was being paid less than her male co-stars, specifically in the movie American Hustle. Instead of spewing feminist allegations, she took it upon herself to improve on her negotiation skills and re-evaluate her worth an employee. Speaking openly about Hollywood’s wage gap, Jennifer has been an active player in women’s national movements towards equality.
“Even as far back as when I started acting at 14, I know I've never considered failure.”
