#MakeAmericaTruthfulAgain Part 1: understand the wicked problem

When we seek truth, we can cultivate a high-functioning democracy to serve the greater good and sustain the health of the planet.
When we stop seeking truth, we cannot hope to reduce health, social, and wealth inequalities that damage society, reverse environmental degradation, nor fix our corrupt, crony democracy.
Seeking Truth is the highest quest for democracy
- Without truth, there is no trust in democracy
- Without trust, there is no good government
- Without good government, there is no accountability to the people
- Without accountability, there is no true liberty
- Without liberty, there is no true freedom of thought
Many people react to the question above with this question.
When was America ever truthful?
This cynical response overlooks the complexities of how we can elect leaders who empower people for the greater good versus malignant narcissistic megalomaniacs who serve themselves and the ruling elites.
How can we maximize people empowerment to minimize malignant megalomania?
Political truth-seeking is a journey with highs and lows. Leaders who empower people to strive toward higher levels of truthfulness benefit humanity.
Malignant megalomaniacs exploit untruthfulness to serve the ruling elites.
What are your responses to these questions about untruthfulness?
- When was the USA at its most untruthfulness in modern history?
- And which leader lived out the greatest virtue of truth-seeking?
Truth-seekers shed light on the darkest hours of history. Daniel Ellsberg secretly released 7000 pages of classified government documents, known as the Pentagon papers, that exposed the true nature of America's involvement in the Vietnam War.
Nixon described Ellsberg as the most dangerous man in America. This story will be covered in the new movie, The Post, on January 12th.
Is Trump the most dangerous man in America?
We have a corrupt crony democracy with Trumpism leading the way with fake news. The Dems are nowhere close to the master marketing genius of fake news. Trump is in a league of his own. He is the con artist of con artists. The Trump trance of blind faith and unconditional loyalty keeps him in power.
The Trumpism of fake news is our Darkest Hour in living US history.
Where are the Winston Churchills to defeat the neo-terrorists of fake news?
The GOP has far greater power to further corrupt our crony democracy much more than the Dems. Both parties need fixing to reverse the extreme state of dysfunctional political polarizations.
Trump is the anti-savior to democracy who gives us the growth opportunity to rebound from the political nadir of untruthfulness. How can we escape their sociopathic paradise? Break the addiction to fake news.
What are your responses to these questions about truthfulness?
- When was the USA at its most truthfulness in modern history?
- And which leader lived out the greatest virtue of truth-seeking?
What about President Eisenhower? Many of his quotes are timeless and insightful.
May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.
President Dwight Eisenhower, Republican, November 8, 1954
Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.
But Eisenhower underestimated the megalomania of this tiny splinter group. This deviant cell has become a cancer on democracy.
The Impeachment March (Jan 20th) and #UnrigTheSystem (Feb 2-4th) are small steps in the right direction to remove the cancers of fake news and the dark money of plutocrats corrupting our democracy.
To address the wicked problem of fake news, we need an uprising of truth-seekers to restore democracy.
The next blog calls for developing a spearhead strategy to generate network power for truth. Unite leaders, people, organizations and communities to usurp the political abuse of power by:
- Building on the #WomensMarch and #MeToo
- Creating an overarching movement that unites different causes under one banner: #MakeAmericaTruthfulAgain. (#MATA)
Hopefully, the questions (above) will challenge your mindset and evoke new lines of inquiry, thinking and action.
Watch video to learn about 2 new word definitions: neo-terrorism and neo-terrorists.
True patriots can use these new words to:
- Label the fake patriots as neo-terrorists who perpetuate fake news
- Debate, discuss and dialogue about holding politicians accountable to the truth.
