Where do we get these skills from?
Your resume is your unique value proposition that reaches a recruiter’s desk way before you do and so it makes sense to put your best foot forward when applying for an open position. In a world drifting towards skill, if I am screening applicants to fill a particular role, skills are a quintessential element that I will look for in a resume, after all, I did share the role requirements to find the best fit.
In a nutshell, if I am looking for a particular skill set, now whether you add a separate skills section or you weave it into your content is a subjective discussion but all that’s needed is the skills to be there.
How would you know which skills to add?
Read the job description and role requirements to find your cues. Here is an example that I put together for your ease and have highlighted some of the core skills for this role:?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
This is one way of finding the best suitable skills and the other way is to search for domain-related skills that will most likely pair up with similar roles.
Although you can Google for these skills but me being me, I have you covered! Here are some of the domain-wise generic skills (for a Mid-Manager level) that you can choose from however be sure to do your research before picking these skills and also stay clear of the ones that don’t apply to you:

Assuming that you may not know me (beyond my LinkedIn Profile) so here’s a quick introduction to?why I do what I do!
I am a Resume Writer based in India and being a military spouse, I have lived the uncertainties that are part and parcel of a career change; there are similar challenges faced by transitioning veterans while trying their luck in the corporate-civvy streets.
