Well one of your Purposes....
Recently, I've had the privilege of attending more Expo's and Conferences as a Speaker, Exhibitor and as a Guest. As you can Imagine, there's a lot of conversations going on at each event and tied in with my day to day Coach activity (which includes Cold Calling..... YES I STILL do it!!), I get to hear a lot of stories and situations around WHY the business owner isn't going well, how much their team sucks, business is slow BUT THEY ARE too busy to have a 'Pipeline'.
There's plenty of Triggers as to why this mindset sticks with them, but the old adage of 'Surround Yourself with the Best' really comes to mind.
Many of my best clients, and closest friends focus their attention on their Pipeline - It's their PURPOSE (at work) to ensure the Pipeline is always healthy (FULL doesn't exist). They know that their Outbound Activities will decide how full their Pipeline will and can be.
One of the coolest features of a DECENT PIPELINE, is the Forecast feature (humor me here, I know the excuse is 'No one can forecast upcoming sales'....) -
What amazing Jobs are we going to win in the coming weeks?
What impact does this have on my Cashflow?
What Quotes are we going to complete?
Imagine the engagement from the staff when they see how busy they are going to be with FULFILLING work!
I know this sounds Idealistic, but these Pipelines can turn ANY EXCUSE into "My next holiday will be ________". On that basis alone, wouldn't you make your Pipeline a purpose if it meant another family holiday?
