Make Orders Giftable

Some ecom stores are fortunate enough to sell products that are gift-worthy.
If your items are sometimes sent as gifts, do your shoppers (and your revenue) a favor and make it an awesome gift experience–for both the sender and receiver.
Some ways to upgrade your gifting experience
Enable gift notes
This one's easy, and there are even ways to automate it so it doesn't add any fulfillment time. With PDQ, for example, you can print it with the shipping label.
Levain Bakery even has 2 gift note options: a regular gift message for free, and a custom greeting card for an additional fee.
Let them pick a delivery arrival date
Sometimes you want to make sure something arrives on the special day, a calendar delivery date picker is perfect for it. Either by entering a date or picking a day on a calendar, like this example from Jeni's ice cream (powered by PDQ).
Offer same-day delivery
Many of us are last-minute gift getters (I can't be the only one!) so let us pay a bit extra to get it delivered today (if delivery is local).
Start before checkout
If it makes sense, have a 'Gifts' page dedicated to your most giftable items. It's just a matter of putting all your shoppers' favorite gifts in one place.
Then, on the product page, let shoppers know they can easily gift whatever they're looking at– whether you offer gift wrapping or just a gift note.
Offer a gift receipt
Enable gift-givers to swap out their receipts for a gift receipt that hides just how generous (or not) they've been.
