Make Them Giants, O2, 2015
Soundtrack for O2's Make Them Giants campaign, 2015, recorded at Abbey Road.
Here's a link to an animation project that I've just finished scoring for O2 and The Rugby World Cup. The film started airing on TV and in cinemas last week. It took a year to animate, and we recorded the score in Abbey Road studio one with a 65 piece orchestra.
I worked closely with the creatives Christopher Keatinge and Tom Houser at VCCP, the director Elliot Dear from Blinkink and music supervisor Connie Edwards from Major Tom to write the score for the two minute film, as well as a 60 and a 40 second version.
You can see a little of 'The Making of' here, which shows some of the amazing techniques used to animate the film and also includes a few scenes from the session at Abbey Road, about halfway through: https://lbbonline.com/work/10607/
As part of the campaign I also wrote a stripped back, minimal arrangement of the full piece to be used alongside the avatar-creator on O2's website: https://www.o2.co.uk/sponsorship/rugby/wear-the-rose#create
I had worked with Christopher and VCCP earlier in the year, writing the soundtrack for this film for O2 featuring a piano-led score and a voice over from Sean Bean (#WearTheRose, The Six Nations, dir. Tomas Mankovsky, 2015):
I'm incredibly proud to be part of these projects and hope to work with the team behind them again in the future.
