A little bit about me...

11 years ago… I was a mom to an amazing 4 year old little boy, and going on maternity leave from RICKI'S, where I'd spent the last 10 years of my life. I was at a very low point in my life, and I was finding myself to become a single parent, now with 2 kids under the age of 5.

I had my first child later on in life. (at age 34) At age 38, I found out I was pregnant, and to say I was shocked was an understatement. He was not planned, and I was living in an apartment, that while I was grateful to have a roof over my head, I was not wanting to bring another little human into this equation. I couldn't love him more, but it was a challenge, trying to support these 2 innocent little beings that I loved more than life itself.

I started to soon realize that I wanted to find something that allowed me the flexibility to work from wherever I chose. Some nights I was up all hours, and then to get them ready and myself out the door, was always a mad rush. My main problem, was that retail was all I had ever done, and I didn't know where to even begin my search. I didn't want to go back to school. Trying to raise 2 little kids on my own, and add school to the mix, I didn't see that working out for me.

I didn't spend a lot of time on my phone, but I kept seeing a lot of ads in my newsfeed, and I started to wonder, what are they doing? IS this Legit? Could I do this? (even though I did not like computers, and was the furthest thing from being tech savvy!)

I decided to look into it further. I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that there are actually people out there that are making a living online, from their phone. If they are doing it, why couldn't I? This would allow me to stay at home with my kids, and work from home if I wanted to.

I was able to leave my retail career in June 2021, and spent my first summer being able to spend all the TIME I wanted with my kids, instead of scrambling to find places where they can go each day that I had to work. Before I knew it, the summer was over, and we barely got to spend any time together at all.

I did start my business when I was working full time in a high volume retail store, but I worked on my business part time. I fit it into the pockets of my time....when the boys went to bed, days off etc...you decided when and what works with you and your familys schedule. I now work on it full time, but I still decide how many hours each day I put into it, and when and where I choose to work from. The flexibility is the best, because it gives me all the TIME I want with my family.

We all know that life is far too short. Even if you love what you do now, that is fantastic! I am so happy for you! There may come a time though, that you wish you had something else working, so that you don't have to. I feel so grateful that I have found something that works for me, even when I can't...
