Make sense of your dream first before you pursue?

Make sense of your dream first before you pursue?

Can you make sense of your dream or really see the depth of your dreams if you don't Start pursuing them?.

Think of the ''Light at the end of the tunnel __ You need to first embark on the journey to get a glimpse then each step forward reveals more, turning uncertainty into insight.

Picture everything you haven't tried as ''darkness'' waiting to spark once you step up. I remember when i started my book club, I couldn't predict the outcome__ It felt uncertain. But then i did it and nearly a year later,it's taught me patience, communication and discipline. Now instead of asking ''How do i start?''The only question that drives me is ''How do i make it better?''

See the switch? Your thoughts take a progressive turn when you take bold steps.

DON'T LET THE CRITIC SHAME YOU!

I listened to an interview of Brene Brown this week where she talked about her big break and her experience with critics, She quoted Theodore Roosevelt,

''It's not the critic who counts; it's not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done it better the credit belongs to the person who's actually in the arena, whose face is marred with blood and sweat and dust , who at the best in the end knows the triumph of high achievement and who at worst, if he fails, he fails, daring greatly.

It resonated with me deeply!

Few months ago, I had made a deliberate effort to observe instagram comments, I noticed something interesting__ no matter how upifting or beautiful a post is there's always someone ready to point out a flaw.

These critics aren't necessarily hateful; often, they're so tuned into perfection that they miss the joy others are focused on.

The question is, knowing there are always naysayers, will you let their words shake you? Or will you focus on the positive, especially when their critiques serve no purpose other than to undermine?

Brene herself, known for exploring shame and vulnerability, faced her own struggles with this. But she persevered, proving that, while vulnerability opens us up, it also brings strength. she said this ''I want to show up and be seen in my work and if i would do that there is only one guarantee and that is ''I will get my ass kicked''

lol that just explains the hateful comments under creative works or posts that meant to spread love. Great work attracts comments (positive & negative)

Be vulnerable enough to share your work, accept constructive criticism and be quick to discard anything that seeks to dim your light.

There's no shame in being corrected, what's wrong is unconstructive criticism.

Those who influence change are called ''brave'' not because they did anything new but because they are willing to face dust and sweat like theodore said.

You want to be like them? Show up! knowing your courage to create matters far more than anyone's critique

Dear Creator,

You'll get your ass kicked, i guess it's part of the package to greatness

What should matter most to you is that you are growing everyday, touching lives and your oil is overflowing cos' there is a whole journey ahead of you, You don't want to run out of what drives you because someone said something unpleasant.

Welcome to November! Make it one to remember my friend!

Oh hey! Before i forget, ''Never put your signature on what doesn't speak excellence'', once you submit a work that is below standard, you give an unpleasant impression about yourself. I learnt that from a good friend.

Great article. In the end, discourse requires multiple viewpoints. If you're sharing something of interest or value, there will be opinions to all sides. It is not necessary to take every opinion as a critique, it is just discourse. If it's rude, then ignore it. If it's insightful then consider it. If it's supportive then be grateful. This is how I manage responses to my writing and hope others do when I comment on their writing - even when I don't agree with them.

What an inspiring message Joy Fashagba, if others want to dim our light, it says more about them. It's much more fun to celebrate others their talents and successes than to find their flaws and dissect those.
