Make Our Story Yours
St Francis Hospice Dublin is proud to launch our Living Today, Building for Tomorrow fundraising campaign, led by our wonderful ambassador, actor Brendan Gleeson. The campaign invites companies working in or alongside the construction sector to come together to fundraise nearly €3.5m to support the cost of the redevelopment of the new 24-bed in-patient unit planned for our Raheny hospice. The estimated cost of the project is €29.8m.
Our existing 19-bed in-patient unit, designed 30 years ago, was state of the art in its day, however its three 4-bedded rooms no longer meet today’s standards in terms of patient privacy, dignity and infection control. The increase of beds from 19 to 24 is needed to help St Francis Hospice meet the increasing specialist palliative care needs of our growing and ageing population.
The Living Today, Building for Tomorrow campaign provides an opportunity for those in the industry to come together to support a vital community service. The campaign has been built to allow companies of all sizes to get involved and benefit from the packages available. We are fortunate to have had some visionary donors come on board early in the process, I wish to acknowledge their incredible support to date.
Brian McKeon of MKN Property Group explains their reasons for coming on board as Platinum Sponsors, “As a forward thinking company we appreciate and understand what St Francis Hospice Dublin is working to achieve with this redevelopment. It makes sense to support this vital community service to help meet our social value obligations. It is wonderful that that the programme supports companies like ours to meet ESG targets and enables companies at all levels within the construction sector to lend their support for this worthy cause.”
?The campaign offers companies the opportunity to meet their social value obligations as part of their?#CSR?or?#esgreporting?targets by supporting the vital services that?St. Francis Hospice Dublin?provides within the community. The campaign has carefully been developed to ensure that companies at all levels within the construction sector can lend their support and benefit in terms of promotion and profile.

As you can see in this virtual walk-through video by architects Burke-Kennedy Doyle Architects , our new hospice in-patient unit will be a modern, state-of-the-art hospice facility. We have lodged our planning permission application, and following a tendering process we anticipate beginning the build early in 2024, with completion in spring 2026.
