The Dental Marketing Institute
Creating, expanding, and maintaining your competitive advantage
What has that got to do with marketing and dental marketing in particular? Well, quite a lot, at least metaphorically speaking.
You need to break the habits and molds of your current marketing?to chart a better, more profitable, and more consumer/patients orientated way forward for your dental practice. If you don't, your dental marketing will quickly find itself in a position of active inertia.
When speaking with dentists, I often recognize signs that the fresh thinking that contributed to their dental practice's early marketing success has disappeared. In its place is now an inflexible attitude that creates the status quo.
I don't want to drum home the fact that I have spent close to 30 years in dental marketing. But sometimes time is the best teacher. Time has taught me that dental practices are experiencing disappointing results because their owners failed to recognize the changes in their marketplace and lost touch with how to reach their potential market audience, which is constantly evolving. The same marketing formula that had brought success now brings failure.
Marketing strategies need to be constantly reviewed,?tweaked, and innovated. More often than not, Dentists get detached from all things marketing and do not notice that, bit by bit, the ship changes course. When it hits the iceberg, it's too late.
Most dentists know when things start to go wrong and when something stops working. They often need help pinpointing the problem and getting back on course.
A significant problem for dentists is their need to understand?the precise circumstances of how and why the same old formulas and approaches to marketing that contributed to their success will now hinder them in responding to the changes around them.
