Make Money while Sleeping [NOT PASSIVE INCOME]
Last night, I had a dream of closing a big client on sales training. I was in the client’s office on a Sunday, and he had somehow convinced his executives to come and see if we could hash out a deal.?
I was getting frustrated because I saw the opportunity to help make this client so much more money than he would pay me, but the client was dragging his heels, scared of disrupting any current processes. Typical.?
I couldn’t take it any longer. I said:
“Let me call your biggest prospect right now, and I’ll see if I can close the sale right before you.”
They pulled out the contact information card, and I swear it was glowing. This client represented so much new business to them, yet the sales cycle had stalled. He was doing to them what they were doing to me.?
I rang the client on a Sunday. Thankfully he answered.
I opened: “Hey, my name is Jason Fladlien. I understand you’ve been considering buying this product from this company, but for some reason, you haven’t. They’ve brought me because they want to train their sales staff to sell to the clients who most need their product but haven’t yet bought those products for some reason. I noticed it’s been months since you’ve thought it over, and you still haven’t decided. Can I ask you one question - do you think this product would greatly benefit your company?”
The prospect answers with an emphatic yes, so I close:
“Do you see any reason not to sign up right now on the spot, so we can get to work?”

He consents, and we draw up the order. I look at each executive and say: “Now, is there any reason you guys can’t sign up right now with us so we can get to work for you?”
Would this work in the real world?
Sometimes. I’ve used that exact close numerous times, and if it doesn’t get a yes, it at least allows the sale to progress because you get more information on what’s holding it up.
