Make Mental Health A Daily Priority
KeyNote - Women Speakers Directory
Bringing diversity to speaking stages around the world
Mental health exists for everyone. It has been repeatedly said that mental health is as important as physical health. Have you thought of what you do for your mental health as compared to your physical health? Can you say that you equally attend to both? If not, then now is the time to do so.
Make mental health a priority - a daily priority in our lives just like physical health. Let's keep talking about mental health until everyone gets that “its ok not to be ok”.?
In this perfectly curated life that social media insists we have, there is pressure not to reveal struggles, weakness, and inadequacy.? If we allow ourselves to be real to one another then eventually we hope to get rid of the stigma. We can more fully accept that “life is difficult” but we can cope and get through it and truly bounce back.
If you know someone struggling today, help them feel safe and secure and be available to listen. Difficult thoughts and feelings are part of daily life. Reassuring them that it is alright to express them can bring about greater relief and comfort. You can do this by creating that environment of trust, the circle of care, and the space of acceptance.
?Mental health is a growing concern. Let's all do our part in reducing the statistics of rising mental health illness. Look after yourself today and everyday to stay mentally healthy.
