When you are about to present, how do you feel? Are you confident? Or, are you nervous?
What to do when preparing?
Being nervous for a presentation is normal and it needs lots of EXPERIENCE to overcome it. So, the most important thing to do is PREPARATION and mastering the topic being discussed.
Before presenting, set your intention, because the presentation approach can impact the audience’s responses. It can make them feel inspired, informed, motivated, or influenced. So, using the right presentation style and delivery, and body language, both verbal and non-verbal, is essential to get the right responses.
PRACTICE is very important, either individually, or in front of others. It is never wrong to keep practicing, especially with a group of people, to get insights and feedback, and to know one’s strengths and weaknesses. Practicing in front of others will also increase confidence for the actual presentation with real audiences.

What to do when presenting?
When presenting, be STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. There are many things to point out and it is easy to get lost while explaining, making the audience confused. Start by mentioning the key messages first then follow up with more explanations to make the point clear and concise. Using strong visual designs will help the audience to illustrate the message of the presentation. Always make it easier for the audience to grasp the information and the key messages.
Getting the audience’s attention is a major key in an Impactful Presentation. It all starts with a strong introduction. The introduction should be able to grab the audience’s attention and break the ice to prepare the audience and the presenter themself for the main content. The presentation will not be effective and impactful if the presenter is not able to get the audience’s attention.
Besides the introduction, the closing of the presentation is just as powerful, as keeping the same energy will enable the audience to take away the insights given to them from the presenter. Maintaining a strong energy throughout the presentation will keep the audience engaged and have a sense of fulfillment when it is over.
So, are you ready to make an impact through your presentation?
