Few of us try to overcome it or circumvent it or develop techniques to deal with it. I would like to share a story of a very well personality who suffered from intense fear and the techniques he used to overcome it.
Rowan Atkinson is a popular entertainer. He comes out as a very confident and courageous person. No wonder, his success story is one of the reasons to believe don’t be afraid to fail. He had a very difficult childhood, ?he was severely? bullied for his gawky? looks and stuttering speech. Rowan was passionate about acting but his his handicap came in hhhhis to get selected in the play even at a school level. Teachers found him not very good in academics too but Rowan to make a mark in both academics and acting hence he gave in everything and to his teachers’ surprise made his way into Oxford University. After graduation went in for auditions for a role in television but got rejected every time due to his stutter. After a lot of churning he came to the conclusion that instead of giving power to others to reject me, “Why don’t I start my own TV Show and give me script that enhance my acting skill.”? The mime screenplay of Mr. Bean became extremely successful and it became his signature style of acting. He showed the world that mere looks ?and vocal aren’t the only qualifications of a good actor and to be successful too.? He laid a new blueprint as a reference or a benchmark for the new generation of actors. This story of Rowan Atkinson tells us not to be afraid to fail. His story is a beacon of hope to every human who had a harsh childhood and a difficult life which led to failure in nearly all areas of life but nevertheless pulled all the fragile pieces together and stood tall!
