Make Every Part of your Life Better

Make Every Part of your Life Better

I'm going to go over a system with you that I made up and I used to do with my one-on-one clients all of the time.

It's an acronym and it's C R I P E S. What you do is you would rate yourself to see how you think you're doing in your life to see where you're doing well at where you need to do better.

Before we start, I want you to grab a pen and paper, and write down a score between 1 and 10 for each of these categories.

1 is the absolute worst that it can be, it couldn’t get worse and10 is the absolute best it can be and couldn’t possibly get better.

What does C R I P E S stand for?

I’m going to go through these one-by-one.

C - Career.

Keywords: Employees, sales, commission, promotion, income.

R - Relationships.

Keywords: Partner, yourself, romance, family, friendships, colleagues.

I - Intellectual.

Keywords: Reading, learning, listening to podcasts, hiring coaches, or mentors.

P - Physical.

Keywords: Working out, nutrition, sleep, energy, water intake.

E - Emotional

Keywords: Happiness, joy, peace, gratitude.

S - Spiritual.

Keywords: Church, synagogue, temple, meditation, yoga.

The Test

Now take the score for each category that you’ve given yourself and add them together to find the total.

Eg: 5 + 6 + 5+ 4 + 5 + 5 = 30

Work out your percentage. 30 of 60 would be 50%.

I want you to look at this and what we're going to do is we're going to rate your life as if it was a test.

A = 90 - 100%

B = 80 - 89%

C = 70 - 79%

D = 60 - 69%

E = 50 - 59%

F = 49% and below.

What grade have you given your life?

I don't want you to get emotional. Try to look at it with the least amount of emotion that you possibly can. There’s nothing wrong with where you are, you just weren’t aware. But now that you are, it’s time to make a plan.

The Plan

I don't need you to vastly improve every single aspect of your life and make sure all the plates are spinning to the optimum level and speed. No, no, no. I just want you to move a little bit up and continue to keep working on yourself every single day.

You want to try and raise each of the categories by 1 point so that your life goes up a whole grade in the next 30 days.

I want you to take your pen and paper and answer this question:

What do I need to do in (category) to raise it by 1 point?

Now what you should have is a tangible plan in all of the six most important categories of your life.

The problem is that most people don’t plan out their lives like this. As strange as it sounds, planning should be the same way you plan your business. You wouldn’t start a business without a business plan, right? Why would you not create a plan for your life so that you know what your goals are and what you need to do to achieve them?

Try to do this every Sunday or at least each month. Keep these tests so that you can look back on your improvements. Take 5 minutes each morning to look at your plan and try and bring as much of it into your day as possible.

I've done this hundreds, if not thousands of times with clients and I've seen their lives improve. If their lives can improve, your life can improve as well.
