Make Every Day a Mandela Day
A lot of charities are relying on Mandela Day 2020 to bring in some extra money for their organisations. It has been a tough year with hundreds of charities having to close their doors as their overheads are just to high without the support and funding from companies and community members.
I am asking you this year, to make every day a Mandela Day – your once off donations this year will enable our organisations to sustain themselves until the pandemic is over. If you cannot feed 1oo people, then just feed one - Mother Theresa
These are two of the organisations and one of the individuals that I currently assist with funding and I would love for you to help them during this very difficult time:
Congregational Church Meals on Wheels (www.mealsjhb.org)
Tax Deductible donations through Payfast, For Good and Direct Deposits.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen an increase in the numbers of people needing food distribution and has brought the number of meals to approximately 75 000 meals per year distributed to over 500 people across greater Johannesburg. 67 meals cost R1 340 and our goal is to reach R10 000 by Mandela Day bringing the number of meals to 500. Please use the ForGood site for these donations and see what other needs they have. https://www.forgood.co.za/donate/money/raise-r10000-for-500-meals-for-mandela-day
Home Start South Africa (https://homestart.org.za)
Tax deductible donations – please ask us for banking details.
Home Start South Africa provides intervention for families facing crises – poverty, unemployment, bereavement, violence and now Covid-19. A team of dedicated volunteers who are paid a small stipend visit family in their own homes and provide counselling, support and food parcels. A cost to support one family per year is R4 200 – the goal is to reach at least one family on Mandela Day – your once off donation will ensure a blessing for an entire family for a year.
