I am posting the following letter because I feel deeply about the good works that this non-profit organization, "The Huntsville Inner City Learning Center", does within the Huntsville, Alabama, community. As we lend our support and donate to our favorite charities this Christmas season; let us remember the exceptional services that HICLC provides for these at-risk children with their after-school learning program.
Children are our richest blessings and if our donations can help to enhance the lives of these precious little ones, then what better way can we share our prosperity and invest in the future generation?
Dear Friends,
Greetings from the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center! As we approach the end of 2017, I can’t help but reflect on the many ways God has continued to bless our efforts to improve the lives of inner city children and their families. We are so thankful for this amazing ministry God has entrusted to us, the growth and success we’ve enjoyed this year and the exciting opportunities that are before us. We are also thankful for you – our incredible team of volunteers and supporters – without whom the Learning Center could not answer the call to impact our community. As we close out this year, I’d like to share just a few highlights and let you know how you can help us meet an immediate year-end resource need.
The Learning Center is serving over 80 children each day in our after-school tutoring program. By partnering with schools, community organizations, churches and individual volunteers, we’ve seen remarkable improvement in the performance of our students. While we’re encouraged by the progress of each child, we still have over 30 children on a waiting list, a constant reminder of the opportunity to do even more in the future.
The impact of the Learning Center in our community did not go unnoticed in 2017. We received a number of awards, including the North Alabama Best in Business Award in the 501(c)3 Charity category, the Oakwood University Community Service Award and were named a Teledyne Brown Engineering Employee Community Sharing recipient. This recognition reflects the incredible dedication and contributions of our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters. It also validates the mission of the Learning Center to provide at-risk children with the resources they need to succeed in school, build meaningful lives and become responsible and productive members of their community.
The Learning Center cannot accomplish its mission without your support. As a non-profit organization that relies solely on private donations, the Center is facing an immediate shortfall of funding for ongoing operation of our after-school program. As you make plans for end-of-year giving and charitable contributions for next year, we hope you will prayerfully consider helping us continue to serve children and families in the Huntsville community. Tax deductible donations can be made online at hiclc.org (please select “General Fund”) or by check mailed to the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center, 2450 Braham Ave, Huntsville, AL 35805.
Thank you again for supporting the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center. Whether you volunteer precious time or contribute vital resources, we are grateful for your partnership and ask that you continue to pray for us as we carry out our mission. May God continue to bless you and your family through the holiday season and into the new year.
