SOFTWARE FEATURES
??FAQ: What is the difference between activity and spend data?
When starting your carbon footprinting journey, it might be easier for your organisation to measure how much you’re spending on different activities, such as the cost of electricity purchased, then move on to consuming activity data as you progress.
Activity Data: This is more detailed and accurate, based on specific business activities. Examples include the kWh of electricity used or litres of fuel consumed.
Spend Data: This tends to be more generalised and less accurate, influenced by factors like inflation. Examples include the cost of electricity purchased or total fuel expenses.
At Compare Your Footprint, we support you at every stage of your data collection journey. Our platform offers thousands of options for both activity and spend data entry.
Our software includes the most frequently used set of multi-regional spend-based factors, free to subscribers, improving the accuracy of spend-based data for our clients. Find out more about the new spend-based factors in our blog.
