Make Crypto Great

Make Crypto Great

Axel loved to use cryptocurrencies whenever he could. Only with cryptos he experienced true financial freedom. He didn't have to ask anyone's permission to make a payment; he simply processed a transaction and no entity could interfere. He was no longer tied to a bank's business hours, as cryptocurrencies operate 24/7. He no longer had to worry about converting euros to dollars and then to yuan, losing fees in the process. His employees were happy to accept Bitcoin or Ethereum, and he had plenty of both. Most importantly, no one could freeze his accounts on a whim. Axel was happy to be free of the banking system, but he couldn't understand why others preferred to remain tied to it.

Axel: Ved, why do people still use banks when there's a superior form of money in cryptocurrencies?

Ved: People are resistant to change, especially in finance. Many are afraid of losing what they have, even if it chains them. Institutions are even more set in their ways. Add to that a system that effortlessly profits an army of middlemen like brokers, bankers, and other leeches, and the problem is compounded. Not only is it hard and daunting to break free, but the "master" is reluctant to let go of the "golden goose" that legitimately lays its eggs.

Axel: Yeah, it's modern slavery. It's not blunt and crude anymore, it's sophisticated and hidden. It's bad enough that we're under total control, but we're also being robbed through the printing press. Is there any way to open people's eyes?

Ved: I've been thinking about this all the time. In my mind, I've developed a system of steps and methods for us to at least move in the right direction. Here's a rough plan:

  1. Personal growth;
  2. Financial literacy, including crypto education;
  3. Drawing people to cryptocurrencies through meanings and creativity;
  4. Introducing people to cryptocurrencies through entertainment;
  5. Social outreach;
  6. Turning pain points into crypto adoption;
  7. Peaceful promotion of cryptocurrencies;
  8. Technological advancement.

Axel: What does personal growth have to do with any of this?

Ved: That's where we start. I'm not just talking about personal efficiency, productivity, or time management-although those are great. We need to go deeper and change the paradigm of the modern person. Right now we value security and control over freedom. We've lost faith in the universe, so we think it's better to control and plan everything. Want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans. We need to love the ups and downs of life again, not just play it safe within limited boundaries. We need to trust the cosmos again, instead of believing that we're the smartest and most dominant beings here. We should embrace the flow of life instead of stagnating. Turning to ancient scriptures or reading philosophers can help.I like the “Bhagavad Gita”, which teaches us to go through life with head up, fight vices and enjoy life. I also respect Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," which describes the path to the übermensch (though I'd advise skipping the chapters on women; Nietzsche wasn't at his best there, in my opinion). Maybe there's a need for a modern, universal book that resonates worldwide and promotes the idea of free growth. We need to stop being afraid. We need to break out of our safe prisons. It's time to summon the courage to stand up, open up, and pursue growth and happiness by trusting the world. The universe hasn't made us insignificant; we are whole and complete!

Axel: I get the gist. Obviously there's a lot of personal work to be done here. Shall we move on to the next point?

Ved: In this part we need to show people how the current banking system works with its army of redundant middlemen and hidden mechanisms of theft through the printing of fiat money. We have to open people's eyes to the truth. In the last step we awakened them spiritually; now we're going to awaken them financially. And of course, we have to present the alternative: cryptocurrencies with transparent issuance mechanisms, programmed operating rules, decentralized structures, 24/7 functionality, and no greedy overseers. We need to promote crypto education programs in schools, universities, and through online platforms. When a spiritually developed person understands the essence of how both systems work, their choice will be clear.

Axel: It seems that the next steps are more practical?

Ved: Every step is vital. Now let's talk about meanings. We need to fill the cryptocurrency space with ideas. A person who is seeking spiritual growth is interested in meanings and creativity. We should emphasize more often that cryptocurrencies contain both of these elements. At the core of cryptocurrencies is the idea of freedom, and creativity unfolds through various forms of digital art (music, paintings, books, videos, sculptures, memes). Cryptocurrency is not just a tool for storing and transferring value; it also embodies deep meanings and creative potential.

Axel: Cryptocurrencies combine money, meaning and creativity.

Ved: And that's not all. We can safely add entertainment to the mix. People love to play and have fun since childhood. This urge continues into adulthood. Video games are a billion-dollar industry where children and former children entertain and develop themselves through games. Have you seen the tears of a gamer when account is banned along with all digital assets? That's the real pain in the industry: gamers are slaves to game creators. Cryptocurrencies can also help break these chains of bondage. Now cars, swords, armor, houses, sneakers, and any other in-game item can be tokenized. People should have digital property rights to the results of their activities.

Axel: That way people can also make money.

Ved: Actually, the basic income issue can potentially be addressed through tokenization. People won't just get it as a handout; they'll earn it by doing activities that they enjoy. And sometimes those activities can be not only enjoyable but beneficial, such as earning rewards for walking, meditating, or planting trees.

Axel: The Stepn project wasn't that bad at the time, even though many call it a scam. Well, let's not dwell on the poverty aspect. Instead, I now understand why serious venture funds are pouring millions into the world of cryptocurrency games.

Ved: Let's go back to Stepn for a moment; pioneers often find it difficult to achieve their goals, but they pave the way for others. Now let's shift our focus to society. There are many people who have already experienced at least one of the previous points. It's time to share the benefits with those around us. We should aim to discuss the importance and benefits of cryptocurrencies more often, albeit in a non-intrusive way, and inspire people to? embrace crypto and to develop spiritually. One lit candle can ignite thousands.

Axel: The next point sounds a bit scary.

Ved: Not scarier than life :) Just kidding! Life is beautiful! We may not have much control here. I just want to acknowledge that wars, financial crises and epidemics can potentially bring the world closer to cryptocurrencies. In a way, it's a spiritual practice: we learn to grow through challenges. I want to emphasize that we shouldn't actively promote these events, but when they happen, we should use them for the greater good. Wars always create masses of refugees and forced emigration. These individuals may not be able to carry a significant amount of national currency or valuables, but they can take with them a seed phrase that grants access to any amount of cryptocurrency. And in turn, through cryptocurrencies, we can offer assistance to these individuals anywhere in the world. Financial crises undermine confidence in the traditional banking system. Whether it's a regional or global financial crisis, or even personal bankruptcy, people are often forced to start using cryptocurrencies. We can educate them to facilitate a smoother transition. Epidemics confine billions of people to their homes, and millions turn to using cryptocurrencies. Nothing happens without positive consequences. Even on the darkest night, you can find at least one star in the sky.

Axel: Is the next part inspired by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi?

Ved: It's a pleasure to deal with a scholar. Here it's appropriate to acknowledge that the current banking and political power has almost unlimited resources and it's futile to confront them head on. We will surely lose such a battle. Our strength lies in courage, determination, peacefulness, intelligence and resourcefulness. We must arouse people's interest in cryptocurrencies and freedom through the first five methods, and as for the sixth method, life will take care of it. Resourcefulness will be useful for our non-violent popularization. For example, we can wear cryptocurrency-themed clothes. People will see it, some will be intrigued, and they will begin their journey into the world of cryptocurrencies. Someone may come up and inquire, giving us the opportunity to discuss cryptocurrencies. Additionally, we can strive to pay for goods and services with cryptocurrency more often. Working with a freelancer? Offer them a +10% bonus, but with payment in crypto. Many people agree to this and our community grows by one more member. My third idea is to share information about cryptocurrency on social media and in comments. For example, recently a businessman asked how to transfer money to another country, and I showed him how to do it through cryptocurrencies. Now we have another GM-member. In reality, even a small "like" can be helpful here. Have you seen a post with meaningful content about cryptocurrency? Give it a like.

Axel: I have a slightly mischievous trick up my sleeve. I write "Bitcoin" on fiat bills. On average, one bill goes through the hands of 10+ people. That way, I've already reminded thousands of people about crypto. And if at least one person later explores this sphere, then my mischief wasn't in vain.

Ved: You've really shown your cleverness here. I also have a favorite trick - I like to give people cryptocurrency on holidays. More often than not, such a gift contributes to the process of learning about cryptocurrencies. Let's move on to the last point - technological progress. We must continue to improve the underlying networks, user interfaces, and all devices involved in the cryptocurrency industry (such as VR/AR glasses for the metaverse or hard drives for data storage). Cryptocurrencies should become even faster, more reliable and more accessible. As they say, BUIDL & invest in BUIDLers. Enhancing the cryptocurrency infrastructure improves the efficiency of all the previous points.

Axel: The system is coming together in my mind.

Ved: Then let's get to work. The Universe rewards those who take action.
