Actually, maybe we're not so divided - seems to me a majority wanted a new President that wouldn't be a full time wrestling/reality show, while at the same time not fully enabling a left-wing agenda of court packing, Green New Deal, big tax raises...Republicans actually gained seats in the House (and many of those successful were women) while retaining seats in the Senate in spite of hundreds of millions spent against them...but seemingly nothing can stop the American people's desire to simply MABA.
But that can't paper over the challenges and divisions that remain - to me, the biggest is that people there are too many that believe anything that doesn't go their way is a conspiracy against them...and any facts showing otherwise are just more proof that the aggrieved is a victim and can't have possibly just got it wrong, or lost an election. Part of life is losing, failing, falling short - and being magnanimous when it happens...but it doesn't mean facts aren't facts, or math isn't math...it may not be the Russians, or the Deep State and don't attribute to malice what may be adequately explained by stupidity.
A couple other takeaways that can be applied to everyday life -
- Don't be a jerk about war heroes.
- Don't be a jerk about civil rights heroes.
- Listen to the professionals around you, take their advice.
- Basically, don't be a jerk, kthanks...
This election can be broken down in a million different ways - and right now the Blue States is where the dominant share of venture capital is at. With the exception of Texas and Utah, the top states lean Democratic at the top level. Correlation is not causation, of course...but this is where the innovation is happening, and where the money is going at the moment.
Wherever you fall on the political spectrum, what will matter in a time where less attention is put in every tweet and is what's going on in your area - your home, your district, your county....which is how it should be, it's what you can actually be in control of, certainly in greater control than what happens in the White House. So focus on that and do the same in your financial life - how you invest, budget, spend...focus on what you control and you will better control your outcomes, with greater success than waiting for some outside force to tell you how to behave, what to like, who to hate.
Be boring...

4 年Personally, I am tired of adults blaming the 'political leaders' for their personal bad behavior. As an adult, you and you alone, are responsible for your behavior. If you need a 'leader' you are not an adult and need to grow up. As an adult, you are supposed to lead by example, not follow the bad example of others. Listen to your mother. If Johnny jumps off a bridge...
