Make Advertising Great Again

Make Advertising Great Again

Come on people, why so serious?

Having worked in the marketing & advertising industry for 20 years and spent large chunks of my youth hanging out at my Dad’s advertising agency I think we may be missing a trick.

Ok the price of beer has gone up along with everything else but it’s probably because we’re not drinking enough of it.

I remember my Dad driving to work in his e type Jag reeking of cologne, wearing white collars and cuffs with a big smile on his face.

Why? Well because it was obviously a lot more fun in those days through the 70s and 80s.

Think about it.

Cigarettes were good for you, cholesterol wasn’t a problem, fuel was cheap and everybody got shit faced on a Friday afternoon.

Charlie and I are determined to have fun with our business, have fun with our clients and live a less serious and analytical business life. It doesn’t mean we aren’t extremely bloody good at what we do, it just means we want to smile more whilst we’re doing it.

I’m not saying that we all need to get drunk the whole time and not take things seriously either. I / we just think that some of the fun has left this wonderful, colourful and creative industry.

So, if you do one thing this afternoon after work make it to go for a beer and have a real laugh with your work mates.

Let’s Make Advertising Great Again.

UK advertising was more fun when it was the best in the world. It was always so much better than what you see at Cannes - now it's only as good at what you see in Cannes.
