System Solutions Luxembourg is seeking a highly skilled Senior NAS and SAN Storage Engineer to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of NAS and SAN arrays, out-of-band managed storage arrays, and array or appliance-based replication. This technical role demands expertise in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our storage infrastructure, leveraging Hitachi Technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Infrastructure Expertise: Provide advanced technical guidance on NAS and SAN Storage Array infrastructure, leveraging Hitachi Technologies to optimize performance and reliability. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Operational Readiness: Lead the operational readiness efforts by consulting on resource requirements, creating detailed technical process documentation, and updating guidelines, policies, change, and audit procedures for seamless integration with Hitachi Technologies.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for storage issues, including major incidents, root cause analysis, and performance tuning, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and Hitachi Technologies.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle process for NAS and SAN storage arrays, including planning, deployment, upgrades, and decommissions, ensuring all processes adhere to best practices and leverage Hitachi Technologies.
- ITIL Compliance: Champion ITIL-compliant processes for incident, request, change, and problem management, focusing on continuous improvement and integration with Hitachi Technologies.
- Monitoring and Alerts: Collaborate with the monitoring team to develop sophisticated event and performance monitors/alerts, conducting in-depth analysis and predictive maintenance using Hitachi Technologies.
- Modernization and Automation: Drive the modernization and automation of the storage infrastructure, deploying new NAS and SAN/Switch infrastructures, and implementing advanced automation scripts and tools, particularly those offered by Hitachi Technologies.
- CMDB Maintenance: Maintain a highly accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring comprehensive documentation and asset tracking for all storage components.
- Proactive Problem Management: Conduct proactive problem management by reviewing open client and infrastructure problems and known errors, minimizing reactive firefighting, and utilizing predictive analytics provided by Hitachi Technologies for preemptive issue resolution.
- Technical Consultation: Provide high-level technical consultation to storage solution architects and other stakeholders on the design, configuration, integration, and installation of new services, ensuring optimal utilization of Hitachi Technologies.
- Extensive experience in organizing and defining technical work in complex or ambiguous situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage workloads and priorities under pressure.
- Deep expertise in NAS and SAN storage array technologies, including advanced installations, upgrades, and decommissions, with a particular emphasis on Hitachi Technologies.
- Proven experience with operational readiness processes, detailed technical documentation, and adherence to best practices.
- Leadership in troubleshooting efforts, major incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning using advanced diagnostic tools.
- ITIL certification or extensive experience with ITIL processes, particularly in incident, request, change, and problem management.
- Proficiency with advanced event and performance monitoring tools and techniques, especially those from Hitachi Technologies.
- Experience in modernizing and automating storage infrastructure using scripting and automation tools.
- Competency in maintaining a comprehensive Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Strong technical acumen in storage solution design, configuration, integration, and installation.
