Major ERP Vendors Look to The Future and See Clouds

The ERP march to the cloud continues, as SAP is joined by other major software vendors in setting deadlines on support for on-premises ERP products. The latest company to commit to the move is Microsoft, who plans to pull direct support from its Dynamics GP solution. The ERP support is slated to end:?

• SAP Business Suite 7: December 31, 2027?

• Oracle PeopleSoft: 10 years rolling support through 2035?

• Microsoft Dynamics GP: September 30, 2029, security updates through April 30, 2021?

It makes sense, of course, that the software giants would reduce their investments in on-premises ERP systems. The software is expensive for clients to maintain and requires clients to interrupt business usage for updates and upgrades.??
