Majesticare Grants: Enabling Our Team to Drive Change

At Majesticare, our grants scheme is helping our team drive change in the community. Each month we love to hear of the charitable causes that are close to the heart's of our Majesticare Family. We are thrilled to announce that June's Majesticare Grant Winner is Matilda Boswell , Activities Co-Ordinator at our Bedfordshire care home, Milton Ernest Hall.

Matilda's winning application supports an extraordinary endeavor - a walk from the London Eye to Paris, aiming to raise ￡10,000 for two remarkable charities:

1. Friends of CME Trust: Providing critical aid to orphans and vulnerable children in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
2. Rett UK : Supporting children across the UK living with Rett syndrome, a rare neurological condition that affects brain development.

What makes this story even more special is that the walk is being undertaken by a regular visitor to Milton Ernest Hall, showcasing the strong bonds formed between the care home and community.

A Judge's Perspective

This month's independent judge is Drew Hunt , the Senior Marketing Officer at PainChek , shared:

“The team at Majesticare made my decision very difficult by providing some fantastic opportunities to support worthy causes both internationally and locally. I was staggered by the feat that is being undertaken by a regular visitor to Milton Ernest Hall who is walking from the London Eye to Paris in support of two fantastic charities – Friends of the CME Trust, which works to relieve sickness and poverty in the North Eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and RETT UK, which supports children across the UK with a rare neurological condition. This application seeks to secure a substantial donation to this fundraising, and I think this grant is a fitting contribution to this incredible challenge.”
